This week, school has been extra busy for our F2 children as they did more physical activities than usual and were involved in preparations for our Tet celebrations.
We started the week by playing football in the main playground. The children were divided into 3 groups and each of them had a turn at kicking a ball into the goal. They also had the chance to play football with their friends in the main playground. We are very pleased to see that the children showed an increased confidence and enjoyment throughout this activity. This week, we also took great advantage of the TX Sports Hall as F3-Y6 children went over to AP1 for the annual sports day. Again, we divided our children into 3 groups and they all had a turn in doing the obstacle course. First, the children had to go around the cones. Next, they need to stop and get ready to balance on the bench with their arms outstretched, then jump on the trampoline for ten times and crawl in the tunnel. Finally, they need to jump over 3 hurdles! Liam said "This is so much fun! Let's do it again!" Just before we started doing the obstacle course, the children did a little bit of movement exercises such as jogging in place, jumping jacks and rolling their shoulders. They also played a game called What's the Time Mr Wolf? and everyone had an amazing time!
In the classroom this week, the children busied themselves playing in our Tet market, reading various books, tracing letters in the mark-making area, recognising numbers and counting 1-10 in the maths area. The children have also been spending a good amount of time chatting in our new cozy area. They now talk more freely about their interests, friends and families.
As we are nearing the Tet celebrations, the children have been spending a lot of time doing their Tet decors for the classroom and the foyer as well. Although it has been very hectic this week, we were also able to squeeze in our schedule making fresh spring rolls with the children led by Ms Tu and Ms Y. We are looking forward to a much more exciting week next week!
Have a restful weekend everyone!
