This week, the children have been enjoying the following activities
The Tiger Who Came to Tea
I shared this story with the children on Wednesday during library time. They loved the story! Next week Ms Clarissa will be baking some of the food from the story with the children
Splash Pool
We have been practising blowing bubbles in the water. We also had fun learning about shapes and trying to sort them into baskets. We have been learning about triangles, squares, rectangles, circles, semicircles and diamonds. We will continue to focus on shapes over the next coming weeks.
Independent Learners
This week, we have been really encouraging our children to talk to their friends if they are unhappy. They are being encouraged to phrases such as, 'Stop! I don't like it!' 'I feel sad because...', We are also encouraging the children to help each other more rather than asking an adult, for example when trying on a costume.
Big Playground
The children have been developing their confidence to use the climbing equipment and Super Nova.
Science Day
A big thank you to all of you that were able to come to join us at 2pm on Science Day. Here is a list of the experiments we shared on the day. If you would like to try some at home, please search for them in youtube.
1. Rose and dye (food colour or water colours) experiment
2. Baking soda and white wine vinegar
3. Scented playdough (strawberry, cinnamon and cocoa powder)
4. Ice and salt (rock salt or sea salt) experiment
5. Milk and fairy liquid experiment
6. Float and sink paper boats
7. Magic ink (using lime)
Sid the Kid'
This is an educational science animation. Sid the Kid carries out lots of investigations and asks lots of questions. Please search for 'Sid the Kid' on www.youtube.com and have a look. Our children really enjoyed the episode about melting ice.
Notices
- Jason's mum continues to be our F2 class rep, contrary to the information on our blog. Apologies for the confusion.
-Please can we ask you to send in one or two photos of your family to add to our display. We will return them to you after we have finished. This is to encourage the children to share stories from home with their friends.
Please see below for photos.
Have a great weekend!
Thank you for your continuing support.
Kind Regards,
