This Week's Highlight: Moon Festival!
What a busy week we've had!
F2 children spent the week preparing decorations for the Moon Festival. They had a go at making lanterns and cay da (trees) in our workshop area.
On Tuesday, the children learned more about Moon Festival and why we celebrate it here in Vietnam. Ms Thuy and Ms Tu shared the story 'Chu Cuoi' also known as the Moon Festival Legend. The children had a go at naming the characters and objects in the story. They also learned some Vietnamese words such as 'Long Den' (lantern) and 'Banh Trung Thu' (moon cake). In the classroom, we have been playing some dragon dance music and the children loved it! They took turns using the drums in the classroom and pretended to be the mime people. Most of the children tried to coordinate their body movement to match the timing of the drum. How amazing!
On Thursday, the children came to school wearing their beautiful Ao Dai's! They did lots of activities with their mums and dads such as fishing, moon cake making, lantern painting, playing the big drum and dragon dancing! After these activities, we went straight back to our classroom to share the moon cake.
A HUGE THANK YOU to all parents who came to support our Moon Festival celebration!
It was a delight to see children enjoying an array of activities with their families.
Enjoy the photos and have a lovely weekend!
