Samsung's RunnerSamsung's SwimmerApple's Soccer Ball

This week, school has been extra busy for our F2 children as they did more physical activities than usual and were involved in preparations for our Tet celebrations.

We started the week by playing football in the main playground. The children were divided into 3 groups and each of them had a turn at kicking a ball into the goal. They also had the chance to play football with their friends in the main playground. We are very pleased to see that the children showed an increased confidence and enjoyment throughout this activity. This week, we also took great advantage of the TX Sports Hall as F3-Y6 children went over to AP1 for the annual sports day. Again, we divided our children into 3 groups and they all had a turn in doing the obstacle course. First, the children had to go around the cones. Next, they need to stop and get ready to balance on the bench with their arms outstretched, then jump on the trampoline for ten times and crawl in the tunnel. Finally, they need to jump over 3 hurdles! Liam said "This is so much fun! Let's do it again!" Just before we started doing  the obstacle course, the children did a little bit of movement exercises such as jogging in place, jumping jacks and rolling their shoulders. They also played a game called What's the Time Mr Wolf? and everyone had an amazing time!

In the classroom this week, the children busied themselves playing in our Tet market, reading various books, tracing letters in the mark-making area, recognising numbers and counting 1-10 in the maths area. The children have also been spending a good amount of time chatting in our new cozy area. They now talk more freely about their interests, friends and families.

As we are nearing the Tet celebrations, the children have been spending a lot of time doing their Tet decors for the classroom and the foyer as well. Although it has been very hectic this week, we were also able to squeeze in our schedule making fresh spring rolls with the children led by Ms Tu and Ms Y. We are looking forward to a much more exciting week next week!

Have a restful weekend everyone!

Newsletter WE 22.01.16.

Dear Parents,

What a busy week of learning and fun it has been!  Apart from the Teddy Bears picnic on Wednesday and school photos on Thursday, there has also been a lot going on!  The children and TAs have been busy preparing for the Tet performance and also making Tet art and crafts.  We also went to the big playground over the week to use the bikes, trikes and scooters.  Everyone had the opportunity to use these.  Our Tet shop and house are still proving to be very popular.  Lots of children have been enjoying trying on and buying Ao Dai.  Ms Precious has also created a cosy new space in the classroom which has been set up to give small groups of children a space to relax and have a quiet chat with their friends.

In our afternoon small group activities, Ms Clarissa focused on persevering and showed children Percy the persevering Turtle.  Ms Precious focused on listening skills and I shared a  'Peace at Last' story sack with the children.

Lots of children have shared their special things in the Golden Box this week.  We will send it home again next week.  Thank you for supporting this.  We have been really pleased with what 'brave speakers' our children have been when sharing the Golden Box in front of their friends.

Notices
-Thank you for all of you who met with Ms Precious or Ms Clarissa and I for parent consultations. Teddy Bears Picnic

We had a fantastic time at the Teddy Bears Picnic at BVIS on Wednesday!  We joined the EYFS children there and played in different areas.  F2 started on the field where was sang some songs and said hello to everyone.  We went on to explore the activities on the field including constructions toys, balancing equipment, teddy bear art and craft activities, play dough and a reading area.  Then we had a lovely snack of bananas, crackers and milk.  After that, we went over to the EYFS playground.  The children were particularly excited to play on the castle climbing frame.  Next, we moved onto the soft play area where amongst other things, there were lots of balloons hanging up to bat and catch!  Lastly we said thank you and goodbye to our BVIS friends and got back on the bus to TX.

Newsletter 15.01.2016

Happy new year everyone! We hope you all had a fantastic Christmas holiday 🎄😀🎉

Term 2 in F2T has got off to a great start. The children came in on Monday with lots of holiday experiences to share with their friends and teachers too! We are very pleased to hear that they have had such amazing adventures over the Christmas break like going to the beach, visiting the zoo, swimming with their families and a lot more. All the children seemed very happy and relaxed.

As Tet is fast approaching, we started the week by turning our role-play area into a 'Tet Market' and homecorner. Most of the children showed enthusiasm in exploring the resources we have such as tropical fruits, traditional sweets, tet food and clothing like ao dai. They have also been particularly interested in accessing the cashier area where they can use the till, gold coins and money and also the measuring scale for weighing some fruit and vegetables. This has been a very popular area for most of the children this week and they are also learning to take turns in using the available resources.

The children also showed great interest in the activities we have in class and outdoors. They enjoyed exploring slime, made lantern and dragon decorations, wrote Tet cards, counted gold coins and putting them in red envelopes, rode tricycles, played duck duck goose in the soft play room and a lot more! The children also beginning practised their singing and dancing for their Tet performance.

It has been a fun filled and busy week in F2!

Have a restful weekend everyone!

Ms Precious, Ms Gurvinder and the F2 team
