Newsletter 4.3.16

Dear Parents,

This week, F2T childred had fun taking part in various classroom and outdoor activities.

Library
In the Library, we shared the story Elmer by David Mckee. The children were asked the following questions:
"What makes you special?"
"Who makes you happy?"
Most children showed awareness of the things that make them unique and also of people who makes them happy. After reading the story, we also watched the video version of the book. Please use this link if you would like to watch the video with your child/children at home https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZlNp-8zOgk

The Tiger Who Came To Tea
The children continue to enjoy the resources in the reading area and also had a turn at doing mark-making activities with Ms Gurvinder. The children were so good at naming characters in the story and some were also able to describe the main events. In one of our circle sessions, we also watched the video version of the book. Please use this link if you would like to watch the video with your child/children at home https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZlNp-8zOgk

Mark-making
F2T children loved exploring the shaving cream on shallow trays. They have been using their hands to make their pictures or draw different patterns.

Workshop area
In the workshop area, the children have been building different things using recycled resources such as tissue rolls, empty food boxes and scrap papers.

Big Playground
Our big playground sessions this week has been fun! fun! fun! They all had a go at using the climbing equipment, supernova and tricycles.

Splashpool
In the splashpool, we continue to focus on building each child's water confidence. This week, they blew bubbles using a straw!

Maths
Shapes! Shapes! Shapes! It's all about shapes for Maths this week. We have been talking about the different shapes around us and have also made our shapes display for our class.

Newsletter WE 26.02.16.

Dear Parents,

This week, the children have been enjoying the following activities

The Tiger Who Came to Tea
I shared this story with the children on Wednesday during library time.  They loved the story!  Next week Ms Clarissa will be baking some of the food from the story with the children

Splash Pool
We have been practising blowing bubbles in the water.  We also had fun learning about shapes and trying to sort them into baskets.  We have been learning about triangles, squares, rectangles, circles, semicircles and diamonds.  We will continue to focus on shapes over the next coming weeks.

Independent Learners
This week, we have been really encouraging our children to talk to their friends if they are unhappy. They are being encouraged to phrases such as, 'Stop!  I don't like it!' 'I feel sad because...',   We are also encouraging the children to help each other more rather than asking an adult, for example when trying on a costume.

Big Playground
The children have been developing their confidence to use the climbing equipment and Super Nova.

Notices
-  Jason's mum continues to be our F2 class rep, contrary to the information on our blog.  Apologies for the confusion.
-Please can we ask you to send in one or two photos of your family to add to our display.  We will return them to you after we have finished.  This is to encourage the children to share stories from home with their friends.

Please see below for photos.

Have a great weekend!

Thank you for your continuing support.

Kind Regards,

Gurvinder and the F2 team

No Splash Pool Today

Dear Parents,

There was no splash pool today due to health and safety reasons.  The building next door to the Fundino playground was undergoing renovation and it was not deemed safe to be outside due to falling debris.

Newsletter 19.02.2016

Happy new year everyone! We hope you all have had a Fantastic Tet Holiday :)

This week, all the children had a turn at sharing their holiday experiences. We are very pleased to hear that they all had a wonderful time with their families over the Tet holiday. Ms Gurvinder and I shared our holiday news as well. I spent a few days in Hong Kong with some friends and my husband whilst Ms Gurvinder had an amazing time in Cambodia with her 2 children and husband as well.

We have lots of new and exciting activities happening in F2T. It's been lovely to play alongside our children in the role-play area as they pretended to be in various characters. Some children enjoyed wearing our fancy prince and princess costumes, some liked the animal costumes whilst the others pretended to be doctors, policemen and pirates! Most of the children have been showing an increased confidence in engaging in conversations with their friends or simply accessing some new resources we have. It was fun! fun! fun! in the splashpool this week as Ms Gurvinder asked the children to blow bubbles in the water! They also sang some new and familiar songs whilst doing the activity. In the main playground, we had a go at practising our Activity Day games such as running race, egg and spoon race and fill the bucket game. All the children did very well and played really nicely in the main playground.

Thank you parents for coming and participating in our EYFS Activity day. We hope you all enjoyed it. Your continuing support is greatly appreciated!

Please see below our photos this week :)

Regards,
Ms Precious
