Book Swap

Swap Old Stories for New Adventures!
We are hosting a “Brilliant Book Swap” event in collaboration with the Parent Group.  This is part of our collaborative commitment to our school community.  At the Brilliant Book Swap children and parents can donate their well read books in exchange for a book token.  The book tokens can then be used to choose and take a book that you have not read before.  This is a great way to reuse the books that you have finished with at home and refresh your book collection by replacing these with new titles.
The “Brilliant Book Swap” will be held in the foyer.  We will be accepting donated books and exchanging these with book tokens from Wednesday 30th September through to Monday 5th October.  On Thursday 8th October we will open the book swap where tokens can be exchanged for a new book title (remember they will be second hand books that you choose from).
Please note that to receive a token, donated books must be in good condition with no ripped pages and no marks/scribbles on the pages.
Any donated books left over from the event will be donated to our Community Partners.
How can Parents help ?
  1. Donate books, but remember they have to be in good condition; damaged books will be refused
  2. Help to sort and categorise the donated books
  3. Run the stalls on the day of exchange in the foyer
Where can I sign up to be a parent helper?
Please go to the link below and choose a day and time:
What kind of books can I send?
Any kind and any language as long as they are in good condition.  This way, parents, teachers and staff members can also take part of the exchange and enjoy reading new books.  We hope to have various languages represented so our young and also our older readers can access books in languages they won’t find in the book stores around HCMC.  You may also have books that your child has grown out of, please consider donating these to us for our event.
The book swap event will give you the opportunity to spend time around school and meet other parents.  Reading is such an important part of our children’s lives and also in our adult life.  The book swap is a moment to spread the love of books and share your favourite texts.  So, please we need parents to help run this event. Don’t be shy, come along, you’ll have a fantastic time!
